NK: Justin started attending Christian Academy in Japan when I was in 3rd grade. My first interaction with him (and the first time we held hands!) was when we both acted in Alice in Wonderland in middle school (I was Alice, and Justin was Tweedle Dum). We became friends for real my 10th grade when we both took Japanese 4 and went to the same Sunday school.
JB: I came to the same school as Nidhi in 4th grade (she was in 3rd) but we didn't really know each other until my 11th grade year in Japanese class. But we did share the stage (some say I stole it) in a middle school rendition of Alice and Wonderland. Nidhi was Alice which is funny because she is not blonde or pale or blue eyed. I was Tweedle Dum which is funny because that's the only time I've ever been involved with drama (or wore rainbow suspenders).
NK: This guy’s funny...and kind of too cool for school.
JB: In 11th grade: she is a total goodie two shoes, I wonder if I can get her to loosen up...
NK: I don’t think there was a specific moment when I knew Justin was “the one.” As our relationship grew, I couldn’t imagine my future without him.
JB: I don't recall a specific moment but we survived two incredibly hard years of long distance right off the bat, so after that I didn't see much that would break us up. We just kept growing closer.
NK: Um, how can I pick just one? His sense of humor, generosity, drive and talent.
JB: Her eyes and her compassion.
NK: Justin’s extremely talented at picking out gifts. Every special occasion, I’m surprised with something that I barely mentioned to him, but really wanted, or didn’t even know that I wanted, but was absolutely perfect.
JB: Nidhi is silently one of the strongest, most emotionally resilient people I know. I don’t think many people realize how deep everything goes with her. Also her secret dream job is to be a CNN anchor.
NK: Our values.
JB: We love Japan and Jesus.
NK: Our personality. One of us is Type A and the other is Type B...guess who is which.
JB: Pretty much everything else…food taste (Indian vs. American), movie taste (chic flicks vs. documentaries), music taste (top 40 vs. Soundcloud), educational values (math vs. arts), social personas (nerd vs. cool), etc.
